剧情介绍：Onahotsummerday,theresidentsofafive-storyapartmentcomplexontheoutskirtsofSeoularegatheredinthecourtyardtoescapetheswelteringheat.IntotheirmidstrushesJeong-hui(HaYu-mi),whoisfleeingfromthelatestroundofherhusband'sconstantphysicalabuse.WhenherhusbandSeong-gucomesafterherwithhisfistsflying,thewomenrallytogetherandgivehimasoundbeating.Unfortunately,Seong-gudiesintheambulanceonhiswaytothehospital,andthepolicetrytotaketheneighborhoodwomenintocustodyformurder.Bewildered,thewomenjostletoandfrobeforeeventuallyfindingtheirwaytotherooftopofanapartmentbuilding.Thus,therooftopbecomesthesiteofalaststandfortenwomen,includingGeyong-suk(SohnSuk),anaspiringnovelistinherlateforties;Ki-sun(LeeJin-sun),asinglewomanengagedinanaffairwithYeong-hui'sfather;Yeong-hui'smother(SongOk-suk),whoconsequentlyharborsdeepresentmenttowardKi-sun;Eun-ju'smother(KimBo-yeon),whoheadsthewomenresidents'associationandlikestoputherselfforward;Pohang-daek(LimHee-suk),afifty-somethingwomanwhodeliversChinesefood;Yun-hui(JeongSeon-kyeong),whoworksasahostessinabar;andYu-mi,acabaretsingerwhohashelpedJeong-huiuptotheroof.Thegroupbecomesanxiouswhenaspecialpolicestrikeforceisdeployedfortheircapture,butafterawhiletheydecidetotakeafirmstanceagainsttheirwould-be-captors.Justatthatmoment,anincompetenttwosomeofburglars(LeeKyeong-young,KimMin-jong)whowereinthemiddleofbreakingintoanemptyapartmentseethethrongofpolicegatheredinthecourtyard.Theymistakethemselvesforthepolice'sintendedquarryandattempttofleeinterror,butenduptrappedintheemptyapartment,hemmedinonallsides.
